ABOUT

Hi, I'm Marie. As a child, I taught myself to sew by making dolls clothes, then, as a teenager, I advanced to making my own clothes. After completing school I studied Fashion and Design at Tafe Tasmania. I worked in fashion retail before starting my family. I sewed for my children (and others) being creative with remnants and scraps. I also developed my mending and altering skills out of need.
Since moving to the Gympie area 13 years ago, I have worked in a clothing factory using industrial machines. I have now retired professionally but want to use my skills to help those who do not have machine or the time to do it for themselves. I find it difficult myself to find clothing off the rack that doesn't need altering in some way e.g. too short, too low, straps too long, pants too long etc etc. If you also have this problem I want to help!
